Lester Arnold Glossinger

Lester “Glossi” Arnold Glossinger, 88, of Stevensville, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005 at Golden Place II Assisted Living Center in St, Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 1:00 P.M., at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave. in St. Joseph with the Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call upon the family from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. Lester was born on February 24, 1917, in Three Oaks, MI. to John and Elizabeth (Baldorf) Glossinger. On September 4, 1937 he married Elsie Rinas in St. Joseph. To this union were born 2 children, Elizabeth and Michael. Lester worked primarily for Auto Specialties in St. Joseph and retired after 43 years of service, achieving the title of Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of the Ausco Supervisors Club and the 25 year club. Lester ?could fix anything? and ?would do anything for anybody.? He was an active volunteer in Hospice and at the former Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph. He particularly enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling and fishing. Lester is survived by Elsie, his wife of 67 years; his son, Michael (Sharon) of Danville, IL; six grandchildren, Kathy (Doug) Harbert, Lori White, Mary White, Karen (David) Ritzlau, Mark (Laura) Glossinger, and Brian Glossinger; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Alexander; and two sisters Lillian and Clara Brummer. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth Ann.
