Jessiebell Danneffel, 98, of Bridgman, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Jordan?s Nursing Home in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Terry Tessari officiating. A private family interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Church in St. Joseph. Friends are invited to share a memory or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jessiebell was born to Rhine and Belle (Puterbaugh) Kuse on August 21, 1906, in St. Joseph. She married Lyman Danneffel, Sr. in St. Joseph. Jessiebell was co-owner of Red & White Liquor & Grocery Store in Benton Heights and enjoyed playing cards and her membership in the bridge club. Jessiebell was an avid animal lover and enjoyed horseback riding at the Twin Cities Saddle Club where she was a member. She was also a member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Jessiebell is survived by her son Lyman ?Danny? Danneffel, Jr. of Watervliet; sister Marion Ashby of St. Joseph; nieces- Karon (Wayne) Shell of Coloma and Loretta (Harold) Pedde of Benton Harbor; and nephews- Fred Lee Ostewig of Indianapolis and Jim Danneffel of Watervliet. Jessiebell was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyman; sister Mabel Ostewig of Indianapolis; and brother Karl Kuse of St. Joseph.
