Irma Lucile DeWitt, 75, of St. Joseph, MI, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home in Kalamazoo.A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 266 Chippewa, Benton Harbor, MI, with Rev. Dr. John Hosler officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, MI. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 ? 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorial donations may be made to Napier Parkview Baptist Church ? Women?s Ministry Fellowship. She graduated from Westville High School in Danville in 1948. In 1951 she graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. On December 19, 1954 Irma married Dr. Warren Wise, M.D., who precedes her in death. On December 31, 1992 she married Willis DeWitt. Irma was a member of the Board of Camalot, American Red Cross Blood Drive, past president of Berrien County Medical Society Auxiliary, Women?s Ministry at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, and was also Sunday school teacher. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lakeland Continuing Care in Berrien Center, MI, Berrien General Hospital in Berrien Center, MI, Shoreham in St. Joseph, MI, and Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph, MI. Irma is survived by her husband Willis; three sons ? Robert (Carolyn) Wise, J.D., of Kalamazoo, MI, David (Lauren) Wise, J.D., of Cleveland, OH, and Donald (Marie) Wise, P.E., of Wappingers Falls, NY; three step children ? Stephen (Bonnie) DeWitt of Benton Harbor, MI, Teresa Metz of Benton Harbor, MI, and James (Chrissie) DeWitt of St. Joseph, MI; one brother John H. (Betty) Young of Danville; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband Dr. Warren Wise, M.D.
