Sharon Jeanne Jackson, 61, of St. Joseph, went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at home after a four year battle with cancer.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Borgess Visiting Nurses, Hospice at Home, or First Assembly of God Prayer Garden. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Sharon was born March 29, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Keith & Dorothy (Geisler) Hand. She resided in Southwest Michigan most of her life. She was a graduate of Coloma High School and Lake Michigan College. Sharon owned and operated the Greyhound Bus Station in Benton Harbor for twenty-five years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. Sharon was instrumental in developing the prayer garden at the church. Sharon is survived by her loving husband Arnie; her parents Dorothy and Keith Hand of Sister Lakes; her brother Skip (Valerie) Hand of Sister Lakes; two children Debbie Piggott of Coloma, Mike (Terry) Kettelhut of Rockford, MI; three step children Marty (Susan) Jackson of Leawood, KS, Chris (Leigh) Jackson of Olathe, KS, Kellie (Cecil) Wilson of Lawrence, MI; eight grandchildren-Eric, Christi, Brent, Katie, Jory, Danielle, Samantha and Cecil. Sharon was preceded in death by two husbands-Don Kettelhut and Dick Hutchinson.
