Donald Jerry Norton, 61, of Benton Harbor died Monday, April 18, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 21, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor, with Father William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph. Liturgical prayers will be recited following visitation at 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic School, the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, or to the Veteran?s Hospital of Battle Creek. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and attended Lake Michigan College. He married Diane Gulino on May 5, 1973 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. He worked for the National Food Chain from 1959-1981, then Michigan Fruit Canners for twenty years, and finally at Atlantic Automotive. He is survived by his wife Diane; two sons?James Norton of Phoenix AZ., Donald (Lani) Norton of Roy, Utah; a daughter Amber (Bryan) Glendening of Benton Harbor; four grandchildren?Katelyn, Don III, Taylor, Sophia; three brothers?Richard (Shirley) Norton of Greeley, CO, Ron (Crystal) Norton of Holland, MI, Michael (Carol) Norton of Benton Harbor; a sister Susan (Dale) Clem of Coloma, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Douglas
