Robert's Obituary
Robert A. Fellner, 78, of St. Joseph, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Great-Grandfather, went home to the arms of his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday April 15, 200t at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. Peter?s Church, 623 Church St., St. Joseph with Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph with Military Rites conducted by Coloma American Legion Post #362, VFW Post #1137 of Benton Harbor, and VFW Post #6803 of Watervliet. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Monday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to St. Peter?s Church. Mr. Fellner was born March 1, 1927 in St. Joseph to August & Elsie (Kesterke) Fellner. He served in the US Navy during WWII protecting the country he loved so much. On July 22, 1950 he married the former Irene Glossinger in St. Joseph. Bob was employed by the City of St. Joseph Public Works, retiring in 1988 as Superintendent of Streets after 41 years of employment. Bob was a member of St. Peter?s Church. He loved Lake Michigan and spending time with his loving family. Bob enjoyed tending to his lawn & garden, and enjoyed all kinds of animals.
Mr. Fellner is survived by his loving wife Irene Fellner; five children-Janet (Chip) Mattox of St. Joseph, Vickie Fellner of Sodus, Annette Fellner of St. Joseph, Doreen (Fred) Hammermeister of St. Joseph, Robert (Terre) Fellner, Jr. of St. Joseph; ten grandchildren-Andrea (Al) Martinex, Beth (Ronny Wolnik) Klank, Michael Fellner, Sara Beckwith, Rachael Fellner, Melissa Urch, Matthew (Emily) Mattox, Shelby (Taylor) Hammermeister; four great-grandchildren-Tait & Tristan Martinex, Jagger Wolnik, Peyton Fellner; one sister Eleanor VanHoeven of St. Joseph; and one brother George (Fran) Krugh of Stevensville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Stephen Foster, and a great grand daughter Hailey Fellner.
