Edward J. Krieger, 91, of St. Joseph died Sunday March 13, 2005 at Lakeland Hospital ? St. Joseph. Visitation is from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM Tuesday, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. with Rosary recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., with Father Robert J. Johansen officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice. He was a graduate of Stevensville High School, class of 1931, and attended Western Michigan University. On August 30, 1935 he married Florence L. Voelzke in St. Joseph. During his life he taught school at Evans School in St. Joseph for 7 years; worked at Benton Harbor engineering for 19 years, and at Star Dynamics. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Florence of St. Joseph; two sons – Loren (Laura) Krieger of Grand Rapids, David (Norma) Krieger of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren – Edward Krieger, Julie (Dale) Taylor, Karen (Michael) Garrison, Beverly (David) Robbins, David Krieger, Jr., Kathleen (Daniel) Bublick, and Stephen Krieger; thirteen great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother – Leonard (Mary) Krieger of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Margaret Eiserman; and five brothers – Anthony, Clarence, Francis, Andrew, and John.
