Vere LeRoy Geisler

Vere LeRoy Geisler, 94, of Stevensville passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 31, with Rev. Bob Confer officiating at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home. August 1, 1934 he married Adeline Ruthstatz at Church of God in St. Joseph. He was a second generation fruit farmer in Royalton Township where he grew Apples, Pears and Cherries having taken over the farm started by his father in the late 1800?s. Vere is survived by Adeline, his wife of 70 years; two grandchildren ? Russ (Kristin) Clark of Stevensville, and Rick Clark of Portage and his fianc? Christine Dawson; and four great-grandchildren ? Matt and Erik Clark, and Coby and Austin Clark; a son-in-law Jim Clark. His daughter Valerie Clark preceded him in death in 1986.
