David Werner Dreese

David W. Dreese, 59, of Stevensville, MI, passed away on Sunday morning, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 11:00 A.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. The family will accept friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 5, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Mr. Dreese will be cremated, and private committal services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Animal Shelter of Berrien County, the Benton Harbor Street Ministry, or to the family. On October 27, 1972, in Farmington Hills, MI, he married Sharon Vincent. He had retired from the Department of Corrections, as Chief Probation Officer, in October of 2002. He was employed with the K-pep Center in Benton Harbor, MI. David was presently a member of the Lakeshore School Board, and was also a former Lakeshore Parent Band president. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his mother Margaret Dreese of St. Joseph; one son, Michael (Christa Alter) Dreese of Stevensville; two daughters, Julie (Derrick Griffin) Dreese and Erin Dreese, both of Chicago, IL; and a sister, Nancy (Fred) Nelson of Virginia. His father Clifton, preceded him in death.
