Richard Allison

Richard’s life began on January 23, 1926 in Cassopolis, the son of Clarence and Neva (Ruple) Allison. He was united in marriage to the former Arabell Shippy on June 9, 1945 in Cassopolis. Richard worked for the Du-Wel Company in Dowagiac for many years. He and Arabell enjoyed spending their retirement winters in Florida and their Cassopolis home. Richard was a very good handyman and loved to work in his yard. He was still chopping wood with a maul and wedge at the age of 86. His loving family includes his children Mark (Rhonda) Allison of Niles and Gail (Sterling) Ross of Decatur, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Richard passed away on Friday March 22, 2013 at West Woods of Niles. He is preceded in death by his wife Arabell, and a son Ron Allison. Graveside services will be conducted later this year at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Yazel & Clark Chapel is serving the family.
