Theodore ?Ted? Domanski, 87, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home, with prayers recited at 4:45 P.M. Memorials may be made to St. John-St. Bernard Parish or the Leukemia Foundation. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Domanski was born June 12, 1918 in Michigan City, IN to Stanley & Maryanna Domanski. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1945. Ted was employed by Dixon Beverage Co. in St. Joseph for many years. In 1955 he opened Ted?s Karmel Korn on Niles Ave. in St. Joseph. For many years Ted & his brother Mitch operated a concession at Silver Beach selling popcorn & carmel corn. After leaving Silver Beach, Ted moved his store to the Fairplain Plaza where he operated for many years. Ted also sold candy at various area flea markets and volunteered at WSJV-TV in South Bend for the annual Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. Ted loved life and loved meeting people. He was a member of Stevensville American Legion. Ted is survived by his sister Wanda Adler of St. Joseph; two nieces Nancy (Dave) Kietzer & Karla Matheson; and a great niece Lauren Matheson. He was preceded in death by his brother in law Bill Adler, his brother Mitch Domanski, and by his parents.
