Theresia Hoffmann, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, 600 Columbus Ave., Benton Harbor with Fr. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday with the Rosary recited at 8:00 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mrs. Hoffmann was born August 6, 1912 in Yugoslavia to Franz & Anna (Ambrosic) Horvart. On September 16, 1934, she married Robert Hoffmann in Yugoslavia. The family immigrated from Austria to the United States in July of 1956. Theresia was a member of St. John-St. Bernard Parish and a former member of the D.A.N.K. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoffmann is survived by five sons-Louis (Judy) Hoffmann of Las Vegas, NV; Josef (Barbara) Hoffmann of St. Joseph; Charles (Patricia) Hoffmann of Baroda; Frank (Diana) Hoffmann of Bridgman; Helmut (Bridgette) Hoffmann of Benton Harbor; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law-David Marks of Kalamazoo; and a daughter-ion-law-Ann Garlanger of Stevensville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert on October 18, 1994; her son Rudy Hoffmann in 1965; her daughter Anna Marks in 1998; and her grandson Frank Hoffmann, Jr. in 1996.
