Morris E. Nelson

Morris E. Nelson, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away February 22, 2005 at home. Morris was born September 23, 1925 in Sugar Grove, Ohio. After two years in the Navy during WWII, in 1947, he married Martha McDonough in St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Oxford, Ohio. Morris held many sales positions in Ohio before transferring to Whirlpool?s Educational Center. He retired in 1990 after twenty-six years of service. He was a member of St. Bernard?s Catholic Church and Whirlpool?s Old-timers Club. Surviving are his wife Martha; sons ? Thomas A. Nelson of St. Joseph, and Kevin E. Nelson of Taiwan; daughters ? Lois A. Nelson of Joliet, Ill, Janet A. Havery of Sarasota, Fla, Alisa A. (Ted) Stanford of St. Joseph, and Teresa A. Nelson of Berrien Springs; seven grandchildren ? James P. Nelson, Shawn P. Havery, Matthew E. Nelson, Jaelithe Barr, Kevin Barr, Jaime Barr, and Ryan C. Stanford; one great-grandchild Haley N. Barr; and two sisters Pat and Leona. Morris was preceded in death by son in law Bryan Havery. A private Memorial service will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Bernard?s Catholic Church.
