Waldemar Schlender

Waldemar Schlender, 68, of Stevensville, passed away at home on February 7, 2005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2005 at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Rev. Rob Kinny officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 10, from 5-8PM at the funeral home. On October 2, 1978, he married Barbara (Evans) Schlender who survives. Waldemar worked for Paramount Die Cast, of Stevensville, from 1966 until their closing in 1986. He also worked for Hoffman Die Cast and Benton Harbor Screw Company. Waldemar is survived by his mother, Otillie Schlender of St. Joseph; three brothers?Erich (Jane) Schlender of Baroda, Adolph (Erna) Schlender of St. Joseph, Arthur (Diane) Schlender of Benton Harbor; two sisters?Elsa Scheffler of Benton Harbor and Sarafine (Fritz) Kopelke of Germany. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodor.
