Robert's Obituary

Robert C. Marks, 81, of Baroda, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2005 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church, 3084 Niles Road, in St. Joseph. Friends may call Friday evening between 5-8 P.M. at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Bridgman. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Friends wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Robert was born February 3, 1923 in Dowagiac, MI. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1941. Robert served his county during WWII in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. While serving overseas, he met Betty James. They were married on October 3, 1945 in England. He was employed at the Whirlpool Corporation in St. Joseph in the 1950?s. Later he moved to California and owned and operated B&B Electronics together with his wife before returning to the St. Joseph area in 1995. Robert loved remodeling and ?working with his hands.? Woodworking was his specialty. There was not anything he could not do. He also enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Robert is survived by his wife Betty; his grandson Philip York of Santa Cruz, CA; his brother Edward (Rita) Marks of Bridgman; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Olga Marks; his daughter Rosemary York; and his grand daughter Laurie York.
