John's Obituary

John Steve Williams, 54, of Stevensville, passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at his home after a long illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Mr. Williams was born August 4, 1950 in Russellville, Alabama to John & Paulean (Ballard) Williams. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1968. Steve was self employed in the landscaping & lawn maintenance business. He was a very kind & generous person, willing to do almost anything for anybody. He loved being around people & had many, many friends. Steve also enjoyed hunting & fishing. Steve is survived by his mother & step-father-Paulean & William Hardin of Stevensville; his son John Randal Williams of Carson City, Michigan; his daughter Angie (David) Wright of St. Joseph; his brother Bill (Karen) Hardin of Lawrence, Michigan; three sisters-Sheila Gonzales & Peggy Cason of Vina, Alabama; Vicki (Ed) Kramer of Walahala, Michigan; his special friend Mary Fortune of Watervliet; and his canine companion Meathead. He was preceded in death by his father John Lecil Williams in 2000, and by his former wife Eva Jean Williams in 1999.
