Shirley Mae Lunde, 67, of Cumming, GA, passed from this life Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church, at the corner of Church and Market Streets, St. Joseph, MI, with Pastor Tom Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan, P.O. Box 407, St. Joseph, MI 49085 or Trinity Lutheran School, St. Joseph, MI. Shirley was born on March 13, 1938 in St. Joseph, MI to Elmer Herman and Elsie Alice (Bomke) Greening. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1956 before working at VM Corporation for 20 years and then at LECO for 7 years. Shirley has always enjoyed traveling which included a dream trip to New Zealand, Australia, Japan and other south East Asian countries. Many of her trips included her mother, brother, sister and numerous other friends. She married Marvin C. Lunde November 23, 1974 and lived in the St. Joe area before moving to Canon City, CO for several years, before relocating to the Atlanta, GA area. They soon became acclimated to the southern lifestyle and still make their home in Cumming, GA. She became friends with her neighbors and will be remembered for her caring personality. Shirley and Marv continued to enjoy traveling and visiting with friends and family. They made numerous trips to Washington State to visit Marv?s family with whom Shirley had become very close. Shirley was a special Aunt to her nieces and nephews, both those directly related and those she grew to know and love so well, several of whom were siblings of her friends. She was a special friend to many and cared deeply for those friends. She has always remained in touch with her many relatives and friends through out the country. Shirley is survived by her husband Marv of 30 years, mother Elsie Alice Greening, brothers; Elmer Richard (Carolyn) Greening and Dewayne Norman Greening, and sister Marilyn Elaine (John) Robbins and 7 nieces and nephews. Her father, Elmer Herman Greening a sister Virginia Mae Greening, and a brother Norman John Greening preceded her in death. Shirley will be deeply missed by all.
