Louis's Obituary

Louis William Jones, 69, of St. Joseph Township, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30th, at 2:30pm at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call on Saturday, January 29th, from 3:00-6:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Haven Area Hospice or the Humane Society. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Lou was born on September 7, 1935, in St. Joseph, MI to Emil & Ida (Hahn) Jones. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School-Class of 1953. Lou served in the US Army ? Artillery Division during the Korean War, was the past President of the Band and Orchestra Parents of St. Joseph High School, a coach in the Elk?s softball league, the road commissioner of Shoreham Village, served on the Community Restorative Board, and was co-owner of the former Berrien Real-Estate office. Lou was also the owner & President of Twin City Engraving / Premier Promotions, where he worked for 40 years. Lou had a love of fishing, gardening, golf, history, reading, news, his friends, meeting new people, and his morning Martin?s coffee group. He loved to travel or just spend time with his wife & family. He had a terrific sense of humor. He was a very loving, caring & generous person who would do anything for anyone. He also loved all of the animals in his life ? his own pets and all of his ?grand-dogs?, which was only exceeded by his deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Beth Jones of Benton Harbor; sons Jeff (Diane) Jones, Jerry (Jeannine) Jones; stepson, Jeff Migala (Diana Watts) and stepdaughter, Julie Migala all of St. Joseph; Grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Courtney Jones and Brandon Jones; and Brother Elmer (Mary) Jones of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harry, sisters Dorothy and Alice, and his stepdaughter Angela Migala (June 2003).
