A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 14, 2005, with visitation beginning one hour before the service at 9:00 A.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Derrick Tyree. Derrick Alan Tyree was born January 9, 1963, to Mattie Tyree in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He moved to Benton Harbor when he was six years old. Derrick attended and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. He later moved to Kalamazoo, where he worked as a Machinist at Strykers. In 1993 he and Joletta Wilson joined in matrimony. Derrick departed this life on February 5, 2005 at 12:00 noon. He will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Joletta Tyree of Kalamazoo; his beloved mother Mattie Walker of Benton Harbor; five children ? Dion, Crystal, April, Sonya, and Billy; two grandchildren – Jalynn and Johntous; two brothers ? Gerald Tyree and Perry Walker, both of Benton Harbor; one sister ? Starlette (Sherman Duff) Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his step-father Essex Walker.
