Stanley Green

Stan’s life began on August 29, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York. Stan’s birth parents are Charles and Dorothy Price, when Stan was 18 months old; he was adopted by Frederick J. and Gertrude A. (Webber) Green. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Hook on June 30, 1973 in Windber, PA. Stan honorably served his country in the U. S. Army. He fought in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was a member of the Cassopolis VFW Post 10704 and he served on their honor guard. He was also a member of the American Legion in Dowagiac, Purple Heart Association in Battle Creek, Vietnam Veterans Association and he had started a reunion group, 377 A BATT (AZN) 101st Airborne. He had worked for Georgie Boy RV for several years. Stan really enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs, Zoe and Molly. He enjoyed helping Veterans by taking them to the Battle Creek VA Hospital. His loving family includes his wife, Bonnie Green; children, Todd (Christine Hawkins) Green of Elkhart, IN, Shawn (Amber Wilson) Green of Dowagiac, Scott (Charity) Green of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Gavin, Bailey, Madison, Cassidy, Ayden; brother and sister, Charles Price and Audrey Librera. Stan passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hubert Price and sister, Marjorie Price. His family will gather with friends on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. He will be laid to rest in Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to VFW Post 10704 Cassopolis or Cass County Council on Aging.
