Marjorie Eberhart

Marjorie Eberhart, 79, of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Martin Weigand officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew?s Lutheran Church of which she was a member. Mrs. Eberhart was born December 24, 1925 in Longton, England to Joseph & Florence (Bickerton) Reeves. She met Ervin Eberhart in England while he was serving his country during WWII, and they were married in England on August 13, 1943. In February of 1946, she moved to Benton Harbor to join her husband, where they purchased a fruit farm which they operated together. Marjorie also took care of the household chores as well as working at Jung?s Flower Farm for a time. Marjorie?s main interest was her family. She enjoyed spending as much time with her husband, children, and grandchildren as she could. Marjorie is survived by her husband Ervin; two daughters-Jean (Richard) Gitersonke of Benton Harbor; Iris (John) Mann of Fennville, MI; her son-John (Mary) Eberhart of Benton Harbor; six grandchildren-Heather (James) Nielson, Joseph Gitersonke, Andrea Gitersonke, Angela Eberhart, Elizabeth Eberhart, Max Eberhart; seven great-grandchildren-Caitalyn, Marjorie, Diana & Rebecca Nielson; Devon, Jake, & Emalie Gitersonke; five sisters-Doreen (George) Leadbeater, Margaret Richards, Hilda (Cedric) Meir, Iris (Allen) Doorbar, Anne (Lewis) Doorbar; and two brothers-John Reeves & Stanley (Lynne) Reeves, all of England.
