Shirley's Obituary
Shirley C. Bleich, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away at Jordan?s Nursing Home in Bridgman, Michigan shortly after noon on Sunday, January 23, 2005. She took great pride in all her accomplishments during her lifetime.
Shirley was born to Robert and Regina (Klein) Lemberg on October 26, 1909 in Cleveland, Ohio. She became a cosmetologist by age 19 and she was engaged the profession she was passionate about for over 40 years. The last 20 years she owned her own business, Elegante Beauty Salon. She loved clothes, jewelry, and all things to make women beautiful. She was zealously independent and took great pride in being a lady.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard ?Ben? Bleich in 1983.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Richard (Annette) Shaw of Boynton Beach, Florida, Donald (Judi) Bleich of St. Joseph, Michigan, and a daughter Barbara (Robert) Buettinger of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by six granddaughters, Vicki Katz, Jodi Gold, Jill Kwait, Susanne McCafferty, Tracy Portnoy, and Amy Heugel; 12 great-grandchildren, Stacy, Melissa, Lauren, Haley, Jarrod, Morgan, Ian, Brendan, Evan, Alex, Benjamin, and Zachary. This last August all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their spouses celebrated Shirley?s 95th birthday. It was a great celebration for Shirley and her family. The most important and meaningful matter to her was her entire family came from all over the country to celebrate her life.
Shirley was the oldest of five children. All of her sibling preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, 4380 Malsbary Rd., Suite 200, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
