Herman's Obituary

Herman F. Kesterke, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at Orchard Grove Extended Care Centre in Benton Harbor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Peter?s Church of which he was a member. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Herman was born September 4, 1913 in St. Joseph to Emil & Minnie (Damaske) Kesterke. He was a retired carpenter & building contractor in the area. Herman was a long time member of St. Peter?s Church. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Kesterke is survived by two nephews-Harold Stratton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Robert Stratton of Bonne Terre, Missouri; two nieces-Mary Ann Seiler of Kokomo, IN; Carol Jean Kesterke of New Baltimore, MI; neighbors & caregivers-Ray & Esther Haack & Family of St. Joseph; Life long friend-Mary Huscher of Fairplain; and long time friends-Tim & Cathy Pullano of St. Joseph. Herman was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters-Frieda Kesterke & Hattie Stratton.
