Charles's Obituary
Charles ?Fred? Prouty Jr., 83, of Grand Rapids died Friday, February 4, 2005, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Friends may call from 2:30 ? 3:00 P.M., Monday, February 7, 2005, at the chapel at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 P.M., officiating at the service will be Pastor John Hosler. Memorials may be made to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
He was born on August 1, 1921, in Cadillac, Michigan to Charles & Bessie (Harwood) Prouty. Charles graduated from Hartford High School in 1939 and serviced in the Army Air Force in Italy during WWII. On June 27, 1953 he married his wife Helen Skibbe in Eau Claire, Michigan. He was employed as an electronic inspector at Lear-Seegler in Grand Rapids for 27 years until he retired in 1981.
Charles is survived by his wife Helen of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Richard & Carole Skibbe of Eau Claire; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Allen and Robert.
