Mary's Obituary

Mary L. Paul, 95, formerly of Watervliet and St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, December 3, 2004 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Confer of the First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Keeler Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of God Endowment Fund or First Church of God Building Fund. Mary was born June 30, 1909 in Sodus to Joseph & Lucinda (Mack) Dohm. Mary was employed for many years at National Foods in Dowagiac & Benton Harbor. She married John Paul and together they owned and operated a fruit farm in Watervliet until his death on July 8, 1982. Mary was a member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph where she was the Sunday School Secretary for thirteen years. She also volunteered in the church office for many years. Mary was a member of the Women of the Church of God; and enjoyed the activities of the Prime Time Ministries, including the choir, which she was a member of until two years ago. Mary is survived by two nieces-Judy Venters of Missouri, Ruth Ann McCulla of Arizona; and special friends-Sharon & Joe Boersma, Ann Manion, Sue Struwin, Mary Shaaf and Bob Confer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; and five sisters.
