Alma R. Kreter

Alma R. Kreter, 96, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Orchard Grove Extended Care Center, Benton Harbor, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will be on Monday, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of St. Joseph, MI. Friends wishing to leave a message of condolence, or to sign the family guest book, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Mrs. Kreter was born January 25, 1908, in Germany, to Karl and Justina (Juenling) Rosin. On October 1, 1926, she entered into holy matrimony with Edwin Kreter. He preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Kreter was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family, and did for them before thinking of herself. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Erwin (Theone) Kreter of St. Joseph; two grandsons, Mark (Cathy) Kreter of Battle Creek, and Robert (Sue) Kreter of Byron Center; three great grandchildren, Kevin, Kristopher and David. Mrs. Kreter was also preceded in death by her parents, and several brothers and sisters.
