Warren L. Langeland

Warren L. Langeland, 74, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Elks Rites conducted at 7:00 P.M. Warren was born January 14, 1930 in Zeeland, Michigan to Frederick & Della (Wolters) Langeland. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Marine Corps. Warren retired from Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph in July of 1994 after many years of employment. On September 26, 2003 he married the former Joann Brunke Arent in St. Joseph. Warren was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Elks #541, FOP Lodge #96, VFW Post #1137, and an avid golfer & bowler. Mr. Langeland is survived by his wife Joann Arent Langeland; his mother Della Langeland of Kalamazoo; two sons-Stephen (Deborah) Langeland and James Langeland, both of Kalamazoo; two daughters-Peggy (Jeff) Landon and Jane (Ken) Schroder, both of Kalamazoo; two step-children-Kimberly Arndt of Eau Claire; Brian (Traci) Arent of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren-Joshua & Aubrey Langeland, Wesley, Meredith & Trevor Landon, Max Schroder, & Mya Langeland; five step-grandchildren-Lucas & Shannon Arndt, Parker, Noah, & Brianna Arent; a sister Donna Thomas of Kalamazoo; and a sister-in-law-Gloria Langeland of Kalamazoo; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter Mary Beth Langeland in 1999; two brothers-David & Robert Langeland; a brother-in-law James Thomas; and a sister-in-law-Shirley Langeland.
