Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at 2:00 P.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will take place at a later date at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice. Ruth was born to Verlon and Lila (Fisher) Burns on June 8, 1924 in Benton Harbor. She was married to Louis Seaman for twenty-five years until he passed away in 1968. She then married George Bookwalter in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Ruth worked for Gast Manufacturing from 1974 to 1984 until she retired. She enjoyed painting Ruth L. Seaman, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. and was a volunteer at St. Joseph Today. Ruth loved to cook and was famous for her potato salad. Mema Seaman will be missed by her children – Robert (Linda) Seaman, Pam Davidson, Richard (Gail) Seaman, and Sandy (Ron) Blasy; grandchildren – Christa (Neal) Townsend, David (Cindy) Blasy, Theresa Blasy, Daniel (Franci) Blasy, Amanda (Eric) Melton, Courtney Davidson, Rob (Cindy) Seaman, Jennifer (Chris) Baldwin, and Maggie and Louis Seaman; great-grandchildren – Taylor and Trevor Townsend, Lee and Melanie Blasy, Connor and Ava Lyn Blasy, Christopher and Abaigail Baldwin, and Vaughn Melton; and brother Sylvester (Norma) Burns. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
