Jeanne Pallas, 81, formerly of St. Joseph, MI passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, MI. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 8, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 715 Market St., St. Joseph, MI with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville, MI. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorials may be made to Maude Preston Polanski Memorial Library in St. Joseph and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid Society. Jeanne was born to Fred and Viola (Kelley) Lawson on January 18, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN. Jeanne graduated from Benton Harbor high school in 1940. She then married Otto Pallas, Jr. on October 18, 1941. Jeanne was an accountant for Kovtan and Maki in St. Joseph, MI for most of her life. Jeanne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and Valparaiso Guild. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and collected lighthouses. Jeanne is survived by her children- Michael (Jean) Pallas of Dowagiac, MI, Dave (Amy) Pallas of Birmingham, MI, Rick (Marlena) Pallas of Ypsilanti, MI, Douglas Pallas of Grand Haven; fifteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otto in 1981; and an infant daughter, Connie. ber 8, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 715 Market St., St. Joseph, MI with Rev.
