Edna ?Enie? L. Mead, 94, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2005 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peters Church, 623 Church St. in St. Joseph, with the Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Rock River Independent and Assisted Living Center, 3000 Big Trail Drive in Jackson, WY, 83001 or to Hospice of the Tetons, St. John?s Medical Center, P.O. Box 428, Jackson, WY, 83001. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Friends wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Enie was in St. Joseph, MI, in an area known as Buckhorn, on February 16, 1910. She was one of 13 children born to Albert and Johanna Zupke. She married her soul mate Elmer Mead, who adored her, in 1951. They spent 27 wonderful years together until his death in 1978. In 1979 Enie moved west to live with her niece and family in Glenrock, WY until moving to Jackson, WY in 1995. Enie is survived by her nieces Carol Tober of Tuscon, AZ, Hilda Phipps of Stevensville, MI, Marian Spingar of Webster, NY; a nephew Herb (Ardis) Witkoske of IN, great-nieces Lynette (Joe) Shanaghy of Jackson, WY, Michelle (Roy) Weber of Jackson, WY; great-great nephew Brendon Weber of Jackson, WY; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her 12 brothers and sisters.
