Pearl's Obituary

Pearl Stromberg, 98, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2004, at Jordan?s Nursing Home in Bridgeman. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Brian Rumer officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Guest may call form 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. also on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church in St. Joseph or Berrien County Cancer Service. Pearl was born to Edward and Sara (Williams) Tuttle on September 20, 1905 in Columbia Township Michigan. Pearl and her first husband Gray Momany ran the Central Grill in St. Joseph from 1950 to 1960. She then worked at the Grau Market in Stevensville for twenty-five years. She was also a member of New Life Baptists Church and she was active in the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Citizen Center for years. Pearl is survived by her step-children, Thelma (Robert) Reifschneider, Shirley (Gordon) Montey, and Marilyn (Paul) Klann all of St. Joseph; grandson, Jerry Rider; nine step-grandchildren; twenty-two step-great-grandchildren; and fourteen step-great-great-grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stromberg on April 10, 1991; Her first husband, Gray Momany, her daughter, Zona Rider on February 21, 1996; parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
