Betty Lee Wesby-Vinson

Betty L. Wesby-Vinson, 41, of Benton Harbor, passed away on July 12, 2004 at the home of her daughter, Lathoya Wesby, in Benton Harbor. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 16, 2004, at Abundant Life Church of God in Christ, 693 Columbus in Benton Harbor. The Elder Philemon Reed will be officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service also at the church. Betty was born to Leroy and Ella (Broadway) Wesby on March 30, 1963 in Independence, Louisiana. She obtained a Cosmetology License and ran her own beauty salon out of her home in Benton Harbor for more then 18 years. For the last 4 years she also taught Cosmetology at Twin Cities. Betty married Federico Vinson on April 27, 2001, in Benton Harbor. Betty was a member of the Abundant Life Church of God in Christ. At the church she was a member of the Praise Team, a Y. P. W. W. teacher, a Sunday school teacher, and she worked on the building fund and various other church fund raisers. She also volunteered for the Feed the Homeless program and the Pastor?s Aide Club. Betty is survived by her mother, Ella Wesby; her husband; her children- Lathoya Wesby, Lee Fowler, and Shanika Fowler all of Benton Harbor; her grandchild, Andrean Lipscomb; her brother, Demetrius Wesby of Benton Harbor; her sisters- Juanita Gamble, Marie Evans, Debra Whiteside of all Colorado Springs, and Lynnette Wesby of Niles; her grandmother Katie Broadway of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her father; and her grandparents- Viola Wesby, Joe Wesby, and Earnest Broadway
