Kermit W. Biedenbender

Rev. Kermit Biedenbender, 74, of Standish formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away on July 1, 2004. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 8, 2004, at St. Matthew?s Lutheran Church at the corner of Colfax and Kline Rd., Benton Harbor. There will also be another Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at St. Bartholomew?s Lutheran Church in Kawkawlin with a visitation two hours prior. Both services will be officiated by the Rev. Michael Zuberbier. Burial will Follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends my call on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, form 6-9 P.M. at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may also call on Monday, July 5, 2004, from 6-9 P.M. at the R.O. Savage Funeral Home in Standish. Memorials may be made to Michigan Lutheran High School in St. Joseph, Campus Ministry of Central Michigan University, St. Matthew?s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor, or the church of the donor?s choice. Rev. Biedenbender wes born in Appleton, Wisconsin on September 19, 1929 to William and Stella Biedenbender. He married Carol J. Prill on June 26, 1955. He entered the ministry in 1952, and served at a number of churches: Kenosha, Wisconsin (1952-53), Akaska-Tolstoy, South Dakota (1955-60), Warren (1960-65), Benton Harbor (1965-94), and Holy Cross in Standish and St. John?s in Sterling (1994-present). Rev. Biedenbender is survived by: his wife, Carol; eight children- Pamela (Robert) Hart, Mike (Rachel) Biedenbender, Peggy (Mark) Briney, Rebecca (Paul) Briney, Jonathan (Heather) Biedenbender, Rachael (Tim) Mittelstadt, Beth (Marvin) Henry, and Heidi (Steve) Lawhorne; Sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Gerald and Wilburn; a sister, Lucille; and many nieces and nephews.
