Kobe's Obituary
Kobe Vander Molen, 98, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2004 at his residence in Whitcomb Towers, where he had lived since moving to St. Joseph in 1991.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2004 at 1:00 P. M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Rev. Gordy Barry officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home of Stevensville. Kobe was born July 30, 1906 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Geert & Henrietta (Vleig) Vander Molen. He was employed by Mead Corp. from 1930 until his retirement in 1971. He enjoyed a satisfying career with Mead working in various positions including inside sales and as Warehouse Manager. In 1937 Kobe married his sweetheart, Elizabeth Rynbrand and spent many wonderful years together until her death in 1980. He was a member of the Sunnyside Methodist Church in Kalamazoo and also the Twin City Camera Club.
Kobe is survived by one son?Donald R. (Jo Ann) Vander Molen, Stevensville, MI; one daughter, Dicie (Ken) Sizemore of Torrance, CA; granddaughters?Kathryn (Gary) Harms of Prudenville and Janice (Michael) Graves of Gladwin; great-grandchildren?Madelyn and Ian Graves of Gladwin & Elizabeth Harms of Prudenville. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother Peter Vander Molen, sisters, Effie Van Der Molen and Frouwiena Weesies.
