Raymond E. Wutzke, 79, of Stevensville, died Friday, July 16, 2004 at The University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Ray was born August 28, 1924 in Stevensville to Adolph & Olga (Rochau) Wutzke. He served his country in the Merchant Marines & the Army. On December 12, 1953 he married the former Helyn Michalski in Stevensville. In 1961, Ray opened Lakeshore Lanes in Stevensville which he has owned & operated ever since. Ray was a member of the Southwest Michigan Car Collectors. He loved working on & showing his classic cars. He was a member of Stevensville American Legion Post #568, Benton Harbor Elks #544, and the Royal Order of the Moose #1570 in Benton Harbor.
Ray is survived by his wife Helyn; his son Kirk (Janice) Wutzke of Stevensville; his sister Arlene (Ken) Walski of Comstock Park, MI; his brother Henry J. (Darlene ?Tag?) Wutzke of Stevensville; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lydia Franks.
