Ruth M. Frobel

Ruth Marie Frobel, 76, of St. Joseph passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 5, 2004. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m.. Friday, July 9, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 715 Market St., St. Joseph with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor?s choice. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ruth was born November 28, 1927 in St. Joseph to Frank & Mary Anna (Radde) Frobel. She was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 1948 graduate of the Borgess Hospital School of Nursing in Kalamazoo. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Andrews University. She is remembered as a highly skilled and caring registered nurse. Ruth worked for the pediatric practice of Drs. Feeley & Skinner for many years, as a school nurse for the St. Joseph Public Schools, and as an operating room nurse for Lakeland Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She remained active professionally as a volunteer with the Red Cross in her retirement years. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the church?s Priscilla Guild. She will be fondly remembered by her family, many friends, her bridge partners and classmates. Ruth is survived by her sister Lillian L. Hauch of St. Joseph; nieces and nephew Mary (William) Crotty, Martha (Kenneth) Warner, MD., Laura (Scott) Kebschull, Thomas (Sally) Hauch, MD; great nieces and nephews Adam, Charles and Thomas Hauch of South Bend; Patrick, Audrey and Mary Kate Warner of Needham, MA; as well as many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marian Essig Mileski.
