Grace Murphy

Grace M. Murphy, 88, of Three Rivers, Formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2004, at Three Rivers Area Hospital. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Memorials may be made to Sturgis Foundation- ARCH, 310 N. Murphy was born to Richard and Ida (Williamson) Dillard on October 11, 1915 in Arkansas. She married Jesse Newton Murphy on December 22, 1934 in Hayti, Missouri. Grace was a beautician and she operated her shop out of her home on Lincoln Ave. for 35 years. Grace was also a member of North Lincoln Baptist Church for many years. Grace is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Caroline) Murphy, Gloyce Forner both of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, Richard Murphy of Berrien Springs, and John (Ricci) Murphy of Three Rivers. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1991, a son, Jackie Namon Murphy in 1942, and five brothers and sisters.
