Donna Jean Kirby

Donna Jean (DJ) Kirby, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 21, 2004, at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until time of Service. (Guests who are unable to attend are welcome to sign the on-line guestbook at www.starks-menchinger.com). Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorials may be made to Blossomland Learning Center. Donna was born to Thomas Clifford and Carla (Schulz) Kirby on April 24, 1972 in St. Joseph. Donna is a 1998 Graduate of Blossomland Learning Center in Berrien Springs where she loved spending so many years with all of her friends (especially Jerry Millis) & teachers, and where she took pride in all of the volunteer work she was able to do through the school all the way up to more recently with helping her aunt Bonnie & Uncle Terry take care of her grandmother at home. DJ loved her getaways! She enjoyed her time at the cottage swimming, making her crafts, listening to her country music (Kenny Rogers) and taking care of Cindy. Donna has touched so many lives, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her mother Carla Kirby of St. Joseph; her 2 brothers – Thomas Charles Kirby of Calif. and Christopher (Leigh Ann) Kirby of St. Joseph; her grandmother Ella Schulz of St. Joseph; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Donna has now joined her father Thomas Clifford Kirby, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1990.
