Robert's Obituary
Robert Sidney Stearns, 79, of Watervliet, passed away on October 4, 2004 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Robert was born on June 30, 1925 to Sidney and Jean (Walters) Stearns in Grand Rapids, MI. He Married Berniece Elizabeth Weberling on August 18, 1951 in Benton Harbor and she preceded him in death October 2000.
He is survived by a son William Charles Stearns of Watervliet: His brother Richard Stearns preceded him in death.
Robert retired from Whirlpool Corporation in the Electrical Testing department. He served in the US Navy during World War II and fought at Iwo Jima. He was an Amateur radio enthusiast (Call sign WA8ZSE) and a member of Michigan Army Mars, Skywarn Association.
Cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home.
