Bret W. Nimtz

Bret W. Nimtz, 36, of Millburg, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at the Millburg Christian Church, 4915 N. Branch Rd., Millburg with Rev. John Hass officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sodus. Bret was born September 28, 1967 in St. Joseph to Ronald & Sonne (Baughman) Nimtz. He graduated in 1987 from St. Joseph High School. He was employed at Johnson-Rauhoff in Benton Harbor, and also worked as a freelance photographer. On December 15, 2001 he married the former Erica Evans in Millburg. Bret loved snowmobiling and fishing. Bret is survived by his wife Erica; three step-sons-Bryce Tage & Zach Mott, all at home; his mother Sonne Schmaltz of St. Joseph; his step-mother-Sandy Nimtz of Watervliet; his step father-Vernon Schmaltz of Stevensville; his sister-Rhonda Nimtz of Marco Island, FL; his step-brother-Randy (Trisha) Bettich of St. Joseph; two step-sisters-Renee Gast of Watervliet, Wendy (Ivon) Hays of Coloma; his aunt- Virginia (Rich) Rogalski of Millburg; and a good friend-Jamie Mastandrea of Benton Harbor. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Nimtz on December 28, 2003.
