Frank Sink

Frank L. Sink, 94, of Benton Harbor, went to meet his Lord & Savior Monday, September 06, 2004 at home.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor with Fr. William Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to SS. John & Bernard Parish or Hospice at Home. He attended St. John?s Catholic School in Benton Harbor. On January 3, 1943 he married the former Grace McCarty in Chicago. Frank founded Thayer Paper Company in Benton Harbor, which he operated for over 30 years. Frank was a member of SS. John & Bernard Parish, The Knights of Columbus, Benton Harbor Lions Club, Benton Harbor Elks Club, served on the board of directors of the YMCA for many years, and was on the organizing board and a member of Twin Cities Alcoholics Anonymous for over 50 years.Mr. Sink is survived by two nieces, Dr. Patricia Ann (Dale) Quattrin, Marilou (Richard) Radke; two nephews, John R. (Diane) Sink and Charles Buschert; his special godchild, Susan (Bill) Herring, and his special angels who cared for him the last two years of his life Jean Herndon, Corinda Herndon, and Dana (Scott) Humes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Grace, on September 3, 1995, a brother and sister-in-law, John D. and Evelyn Sink; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Charles Buschert; and a nephew Richard J. Sink.
