Lory Ann Schults

Lory A. Schults, DPM, 40, of St. Joseph, died Thursday, January 22, 2004. A Celebration of Life service will be held at10:30am, Monday, January 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Monsignor Sears officiating. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Visitation is from 2-5pm, Sunday, with a prayer service at 5pm, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Lory was born in Chicago, IL on December 31, 1963, to Robert and Nancy (Hamel) Tonske. She attended Main West High School, in Des Plaines, IL, graduating in 1981. She attained her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Scholl University. She completed her Psychology degree, B.S. at Northwestern University where she was a scholarship student, participating in cross-country and track. She chaired the Special Olympics program and was an officer of Center Court. She was a physician at Royalton Foot & Ankle Clinic, in St. Joseph. She married Ronald Schults on September 19, 1997, in St. Joseph. Lory was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had many interests including running, perch fishing, skiing, and sailing. She loved to play competitive games with her family and friends, and take long walks on the beach collecting beach glass. Lory was a kind and compassionate doctor who valued the well being of her patients. She was a beloved and wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Lory loved her family and always put family first in her life. Surviving her are her husband Ronald; son Erik 5; daughter Sophia 3; her parents ? Robert and Nancy Tonske of St. Joseph; sisters Libby (Ted) Baker of Gurnee, IL, and Lynn (Pat) Smolinski of Wexford, PA; her mother-in-law Elisabeth Schults, and sister-in-law Elfie (Brian) Berndt; and 10 nieces and nephews.
