Ellen's Obituary
Ellen Kay Klett, 33, of Stevensville, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, June 25, 2004, at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Avenue, St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 to 8:00PM, on Thursday, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made in Ellen?s name to the First Church of God, Stevensville United Methodist Church, or to Gift of Life.
Ellen was born on October 6, 1970 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Larry and Dorothy (Woods) Klett. She was a graduate of Lakeshore High School. Ellen attended Lake Michigan College and Grand Valley State University, majoring in Arts and Communication. She enjoyed scrap-booking, making jewelry and greeting cards. She worked as a bookkeeper at Lakeshore Electro-plate for ten years, and cashiered at Fox?s Pizza Den in St. Joseph. Ellen volunteered at the First Church of God ? teaching Sunday school, assisting the children?s choir and as a Stephen Minister. She also volunteered at Twin Cities Players and was an active member of the Gift of Life for organ donation.
Ellen is survived by her parents ? Dorothy and Larry Klett; two sisters ? Kellie (Scott) Meyer, and Nicole Kurdelmeyer; two nephews ? Andrew and Justin Kurdelmeyer; a niece ? Rebecca Meyer; three aunts ? Barb Pullins, Joann Bluschke, Pat Woods; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
