Heather Albrecht Herman

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend, Heather Albrecht Herman, 24, of Ann Arbor, formerly of St. Joseph, finished her journey on this earth and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday (April, 20, 2004) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 715 Market St., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Barber officiating. Friends may call from 2-5 P.M. Sunday & from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to Concordia University in Ann Arbor. Heather was born on February 21, 1980 in St. Joseph, Michigan, the second child of Philip and Mary Albrecht. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in St. Joseph and graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1998, where she was a member of the marching band. Heather attended Western Michigan University and completed her education at Concordia University in Ann Arbor in 2003, where she earned a BA and Lutheran teaching certificate. She was most recently employed at Concordia University. On December 27, 2003, Heather and Jeffrey J. Herman were wed at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. They shared a special love and strong faith in the Lord that helped them through may challenges, and they made the most of their short time together. Heather fought a courageous life-long battle with cystic fibrosis, and enjoyed reading, music, and was especially fond of Lake Michigan. She loved her Lord, Jeff, her family, cocker spaniel, and many friends with a passion that was undeterred by her illness. Heather will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Heather is survived by her husband, Jeff Herman of Ann Arbor, her parents, Philip and Mary Albrecht of Muskegon, her sister, Amanda Albrecht also of Muskegon, Jeffrey?s parents, James and Debora Herman, and sisters, Jessica, Katherine, Kristine, and Nicole, all of Grass Lake, Michigan. She is also survived by her grandparents, Alfred and Irene Albrecht of St. Joseph, her uncles, Dennis (Danette) Albrecht of St. Joseph and James (Gloria) Schepp of Farwell, Michigan, her aunt Carol (Kenneth) Livingston of Elk Rapids, Michigan, and six cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alfred and Doris Schnepp.
