Glenn R. Barts

Glenn Ross Barts, 83, of St. Joseph, departed this life on December 8, 2003, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 12, 2003, at the New Apostolic Church, 3392 Maple Lane, St. Joseph (off of Vineland & June Trace) of which he was a faithful member. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M., Thursday, December 11, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Apostolic Church. He married Marguerite ?Mutchie? Meshshke. Together they owned KSK Gardens on Niles Rd. in St. Joseph. Marguerite passed away in 1985. Glenn retired in 1988. He was loved by his 3 children ? Sharon (Tim) Riland of Texas, Karen (Robert) Neugebauer of Baltimore, MD, and Kenneth (Sandi) Barts of Richland, MI; 7 grandchildren ? Heather (Scott) Wethington, Patrick (Julie) Riland, Carrie (Bill) Russell, all of Texas, Justin & Jarred Barts of Richland, MI, Sara (Jeff) Pickett, Gina Neugebauer of Baltimore; 4 great-grandchildren ? Rebecca, Emily, Brittany, and Paxton, all of Texas. He also leaves a sister ? Hazel (Harold) Voorhees of Coloma. In 1989 he married Marge Christie and gained a second family who loved him dearly ? Thom (Celeste) Christie, Dale Christie; 6 grandchildren ? April (Jonathan) Sigg, Sarah Christie, Evan (Tanya) Christie, Todd, Scott, and Ashley Christie; 3 great-grandchildren ? Lindsay, Lily, and Anthony, all of St. Joseph. He was the only Grandpa most of them ever knew and he loved being with them. He was a very kind, generous, and loving man to all-to know him was to love him.
