Felix J. Dongvillo, 85, prominent St. Joseph Fruit Grower, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2004 at home following a long battle with Parkinson?s Disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church in Benton Harbor. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mr. Dongvillo was born February 22, 1918 in Chicago, IL to Adolph J. & Veronica (Adent) Dongvillo. On April 25, 1942 he married the former Regina Nowicki. Felix was a fruit grower & horticulturalist in Royalton Township for over 60 years. He was a member of St. John-St. Bernard Parish, Knights of Columbus, Benton Harbor Elks, and the National Grape Co-Operative. Mr. Dongvillo is survived by his wife Reggie; his daughter-Barbara (Larry) Schuler of Anderson, IN; two sons-Bob (Ruth) Dongvillo of St. Joseph, Dave (Darlene) Dongvillo of Whitehall, MI; six grandchildren-Michael Dongvillo, Megan (Greg) Shell, Jaemala Schuler, Stasia Schuler, Matthew Schuler, Eric Schuler; two great grandchildren-Alesea Fritz, Alexys Davis; and two brothers-Henry Dongvillo of Scottville, MI and Adolph (Doris) Dongvillo of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents.
