David M. Riedel

David Michael Riedel, 54, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, June 7, 2004 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Family. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger. Mr. Riedel was born November 2, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana to Dale & Betty (McHenry) Riedel. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1968, and from Ivy Tech in South Bend in 1970 with a degree in engineering. David served his country in the United States Army. On July 3, 1971, he married the former Priscilla Jean Mach in Stevensville. David was employed by Whirlpool for 28 years as an engineering tech. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the finance committee for several years; and was active in coaching girl?s volleyball & basketball. David will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother; always willing to help out. David is survived by his wife Priscilla; his daughter Danielle Michelle Riedel of St. Joseph; his mother Betty Riedel of South Bend; his sister Marcia (Ernie) Bell of Vandalia, Michigan and his brother Dennis (Sherry) Riedel of Elkhart, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Riedel in 1982 and his sister, Judy Riedel in 1986.
