Alice M. Noah

Alice R. Noah, 73, of Sodas, died Sunday January 11, 2004, at her home surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, at St. Paul?s Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr., St. Joseph, MI. Officiating will be Rev. N. DeLiza Spangler and Rev. Jason A. Fout. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 5075 Cascade Road SE, Suite F, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Friends wishing to send a condolence may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com. Alice was born on August 31, 1930 to Dean & Henrietta (Rowe) Richmond, in Ann Arbor, MI. She was a lifelong resident of the St. Joseph area and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She attended University of Michigan, where she met her husband Donald L. Noah and graduated with a BA in early elementary education. She remained a fan of the Michigan Wolverines football team. On June 27, 1953 she married Don at St. Paul?s Episcopal Church and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this past summer with their four children and six grandchildren She was a member of St. Paul?s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and served as church librarian and historian. She sang in Monday Musical Club and Lakeland Choral Society. She was also a member of the Algonquin Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution and served as the Scholarship Chair. She was a Docent at the Morton House Museum and a member of the Other Book Club. Alice is survived by her husband Don of Sodus, three daughters Ruth Anne (John) Erbach of Galesburg, MI, Mary Alice (Ed) Brunner of Novi, MI, Nancy Lee (Dan Ernst) Noah of Hickory Corners, MI, a son Donald Dean (Kathy) Noah of St. Joseph, MI; six grandchildren Kathryn, David, Laura , Jim, Drake, Mollie and one sister Zeryle Wilcox of Glenview IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Ruth Anne Richmond
