STEVENSVILLE ? Carmela Ott, 91, of St. Joseph, formerly of Stevensville, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Kerley-Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery, Stevensville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Society or The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan. On November 9, 1931, she married James C. Ott. Carmela loved to bake and cook especially her homemade pasta sauce and noodles which she made every Sunday and on holidays. She also loved to play cards, bingo and be with her family. Survivors include: three daughters ? Mary Mahoney of Raleigh, N.C., Carol Maier of St. Joseph and Diana (Pat) Haney of Stevensville; six grandchildren ? Lisa (Hugh) Fosbury of Wake Forest, N.C., Linda (Rick) Pukenas of Oak Island, N.C., Deborah (Bob) Grossi of Rockwood, Maine, Donna Tober of Benton Harbor, Cindy (Eric) WoodBury of High Point, N.C., Michelle (Mark) Beilman of Stevensville; eight great-grandchildren ? Melissa and James Fosbury, Allison, Amanda and Alexis Tober, Hannah and Christian WoodBury and Matthew Beilman; two step-great-grandchildren ? Amber and Kirk Beilman; two sisters ? Josephine Cantalupo and Rosemarie Serra, both of Bensenville, Ill.; one brother ? John (Gloria) Serra of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, on July 4, 1974 and three brothers ? Joseph, Louis and Anthony Serra; and a grandson, David Tober, on September 7, 2003. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and everyone that knew her.
