Sarah Skorupa

Sarah’s life began on Oct. 11, 1958, in Paw Paw, Michigan, the daughter of Eugene and Patricia (Rininger) Clark. She was a 1977 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. Sarah was united in marriage to David Skorupa and they truly enjoyed 34 years of marriage. She was an antique dealer and loved to attend auctions and sell antiques. Sarah and David enjoyed spending time at Silver Lake, which became their special spot. She was a member of the Decatur First Reformed Church. Sarah also enjoyed going fishing very much. Sarah’s family was extremely important to her. She would literally give the shirt off her back to anyone in her family. Sarah was always there as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt. She would call her children daily to check on their days and to see if they needed anything. Her loving family includes her husband, David Skorupa of Sister Lakes; sons, David (Tara) Skorupa of Cassopolis and Corey (Robyn) Skorupa of Dowagiac; mother, Patricia Clark of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Chyanne, Miriam and Zhonnica Skorupa; sisters, Patsy (Mark) Johnson of Bremen, IN, and Roxanne (Darren) Johnson of Elkhart; brother, Kelly (Veronica) Clark of Dowagiac; and a “slew” of nieces and nephews. Sarah passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Cassopolis. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Clark, and a brother, Eugene “Skip” Clark. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 at Yazel & Clark Chapel, where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m., led by Pastor Mark Hofstra of the Decatur First Reformed Church. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery Saturday at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made at Hospice at Home in her name.
